Abstract
It is commonly believed that “happy employees are productive employees”.
Organizations in the 21st century are faced and exposed to more challenges than ever before,
finding solutions and strategies that ensure an equilibrium of how to develop, foster and promote the
culture of a positive organizational climate and providing a healthy, safe and, so far as practical,
pleasant working environment, ensuring the well being of the Human Resources who play a pivotal
role in the success of every organization, all that while maintaining the higher level of performance.
Highly-engaged employees can help the organization respond to changes in the environment, the
changing workforce and the rivality.
The impact of work and the overall organizational climate on employee health and well being has
been a topic of growing interest for more than 30 years. The awareness grew to make it a strategic
business solution.
Keeping all that in mind, our research study is a preliminary attempt that aims firstly to broaden
current knowledge on the matter of organizational climate and the well being at work. Secondly, we
wanted to examine and analyze the association between the two above mentioned concepts. More
precisely, we want to determine if the organizational climate is a functional factor that can lead to
well being at work. Furthermore, through our qualitative/quantitative investigation, we sought to
observe the characteristics of the samples representing each of the two multinationals respectively
“Lafarge Ciment Oggaz & Sanofi Aventis Algeria”. Results of our analysis revealed that the
inherent three dimensions of the organizational climate concept (quality of the physical
environment, quality of relationships with colleagues, quality of relationships with manager)
influence the level of well being among employees.
